The Executive Governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR has held an interactive session with Sagamu APC ward excos and other party faithfuls.
The event which is a first timer in the history of the state took place at the Palace of the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo land, HRM Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi.
Abiodun while speaking said” In line with my goal of championing a people oriented government, I have deemed it necessary to have a round table discussion with the Excos of the 15 Council wards in the state
“The initiative which is the first of its kind since the inception of Ogun state is aimed at getting to know the people’s needs and opinions so that the government can be able to come in and assist in making the standard of living more conducive
“Earlier on today we commissioned the 4 km two lane dual carriageway Oba Erinwole road, right here in Sagamu, that road had been abandoned for the past 16 years by narrow-minded politicians who wanted to punish Remo land and a past governor of the state, construction will begin at the Ogijo Hospital road this week, subsequently the GRA road will follow suit.” he said.
Responding, the APC chairman of Ogun state, Hon Yemi Sanusi, described the governor as a trailblazer with unprecedented, laudable track record of achievements that has placed the state among the top ranking in the Country.
The House of Reps member for Remo Federal Constituency, Otunba Adewunmi Onanuga commended the governor on his excellent performance thus far, especially in his contribution towards the improvement of public infrastructures within the state which has boosted the Socioeconomic status of the state.
She enjoined residents of Sagamu to vote massively for Dapo Abiodun in his second term bid, as he has proven himself worthy of a second term rerun.
The chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Hon Afolabi Odulate Olashile, while Eulogizing Dapo Abiodun referred to him as the “people’s governor” who had the interest of all at heart and was hell-bent on involving the ordinary man in the decision-making of the state.
Afolabi also expressed gratitude to the governor for reconstructing and commissioning the 4 km two lane dual carriageway Oba Erinwole road in Sagamu Local Government, which had been neglected by the past administration and suffered abandonment for the past 16 years
In the same vein, he thanked the governor for approving the construction of the Ogijo Hospital road and GRA road, all in Sagamu Local government.
Hon. Mrs. Funmilayo Efuwape, the Ogun state Commissioner for women affairs and Social development in her speech noted the present administration’s giant strides in the emancipation and empowerment of women within the state, stating that the government was actively involved in the fight against gender discrimination, giving women a voice and an ample opportunity to exercise their political franchise like their male counterparts.
Dapo Abiodun reiterated his resolve in practicing true democracy which encompasses everyone, regardless of their status quo in society.
